YOUNG SCIENTIFIC MUSIC AND DANCE FORUM is a conference with international participation, which was held for the first time in 2006 at New Bulgarian University. It aims to unite the efforts of young musicologists – PhD students, post-doctoral students and lecturers in the field of music and dance in the Balkan region, and to enable publicity for young scientists in musicology not only from the NBU, but also for PhD students and post-graduates from other universities and academies in Bulgaria, such as the National Music Academy in Sofia, the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, the Southwestern University "Neofit Rilski" in Blagoevgrad, the Research Institute of Arts at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Ruse University "Angel Kanchev", Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski ", Varna Free University. But in the years to come, the conference expanded and now it frequently hosts international participants from Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia, Turkey, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, Romania, Cyprus, Korea, China, Poland and others. The idea of establishing a forum for musical science has been achieved with great success. The ability to exchange scientific experience, to share ideas, to set up research methods, to show scientific results proved to be a successful strategy for cooperation between higher education institutions and especially in the field of PhD, which is supported by the cultural potential of universities to build up a comprehensive network in this part of Europe. The Young Science Forum became the first public space for scientists in Bulgaria and many other European countries.

The Edition YOUNG SCIENTIFIC FORUM OF MUSIC AND DANCE: A CONFERENCE WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION is published once a year. The first collection was released in 2007.
