About the Journal

Aims and scope

SLEDVA is a journal of humanities and arts published by the New Bulgarian University twice a year, in May and November. It is both multi- and interdisciplinary, covering the fields of literary studies, philosophy, history, sociology, anthropology, cultural studies, art theory and art history, and related fields, with an emphasis on the culture of Eastern Europe and the Balkans in the 20th and 21st centuries. Academic articles by established specialists in their field are published, as well as works by young scholars. There is a separate section for reviews of scholarly works in these fields. The main languages are Bulgarian and English. The journal is open to a wide range of researchers in and outside Bulgaria. Each paper is reviewed by two anonymous reviewers. The edition is open-access, published in full text online on the NBU website and in a limited print run.
